The top and sides of the field table are inspired by the topography of Japanese rice fields, better known as Tanada. In all its versions - table, bench, and desk - the field line highlights the link between ancient practices and the birch plywood technique that has characterized Pirwi since its inception.

Solidity really stands out once the piece is in place; the design balances appearance with everyday usefulness. The design works well for both daily meals and guests. The piece has presence without becoming the only thing you notice in the room. The finish is easy to wipe down after normal meals. The top shows fingerprints more than expected, but they wipe away easily.

Beyond the attractive finish, we noticed that the design balances appearance with everyday usefulness, and the surface and base felt nicely proportioned. The finish and scale feel thoughtfully chosen. The base is stable and the top feels evenly supported. It has become our regular spot for dinners, homework, and weekend projects. It was the right choice for this room.
