The "dressed chandelier" made its appearance after 1740. The English in particular favored heavily-draped fixtures with multiple swags of crystal buttons, for it was the skillful pastime of stylish ladies to redress the swags and pendants in different arrangements. When new prism shapes were introduced, chandeliers were often redressed in the latest fashionable taste.

Above the older upstairs hall, this chandelier needed a warmer detail. It feels sturdy and thoughtfully made. Glad we chose it.

I rarely get excited, the compact evening setup looked better as soon as this chandelier went up. I was mainly hoping for a cleaner look, but the design is easy to match with other decor. The room feels more pulled together now. Glad we chose it.

After the awkward ceiling area, this chandelier was hard to decorate. The chandelier looks good without trying too hard. I would recommend it.
