The Austin desk has a split personality-the flowing lines of the reclaimed chamcha wood that make up the top and side are rough-and-ready while the geometric leg is sleek and studied. Combining the patina of the gray stone finish with smooth surfaces and clean lines with asymmetrical ones brings this gray wood desk a tension that will make a serious design statement in any space. In the age in which many of us are working from home, it makes sense to treat ourselves to a personable workspace helpmate. We offer the Austin in several design styles, each of the home-office desks reflects the ethos that Phillips Collection personifies: modern organic.

Near the bookshelves, the construction has a calm, well-made presence. I like the clean profile, and the layout makes the office feel more organized. I am genuinely pleased with the purchase.

Undeniably, the silhouette fits my study better than I expected. It feels well made once in place and has been easy to keep looking neat. It is both useful and beautiful.
