Presence is definitely strong, yet it does not overwhelm the room. It feels well made once in place and has been easy to keep looking neat. Getting it into the room required some planning, though it feels excellent once placed.

Finally, the wood grain feels carefully finished without looking bulky. It looks and works beautifully.
