"I often like to transform furniture by combining mixed materials, or changing a finish from what would have been characteristic of its original design period. This piece reimagines a great, chunky, 1970s faceted coffee table that I found in London with a beautiful, formal book and butt-matched mahogany veneer tabletop, set into the bold, clear base. For purists, the table is also available with a glass top to create a floating, transparent effect." - Thomas O'Brien.

Move-in-first-week snacks was the first real test, and the proportions look balanced rather than bulky.

Autumn-tea candlelight was the first real test, and the surface is generous enough for guests but still manageable for daily use. The overall look is relaxed, useful, and more refined than I expected.

Material-wise, everyday use has shown that the edges are easy to move around in our everyday layout.
